Wow... It's been a long time since mummy updated this blog.. Yes, if you see the date today, you know you have come to this world already. Welcome to the world baby!!! I shall skip week 39 and week 40's scans and CTGs done. Yes, you were an overdue baby and I completed all scans up to the 40th week!! Overdue by 2 days, you came out on 17th Feb 2013! FINALLY!!! Weighing at a good weight of 3240g, and measuring at 52cm. I'm glad the good food had fed you well, and everyone commented that you are a tall boy!! Can you really hear mummy when you are in the tummy? You came out the night when I told you, "Baby, mummy's ready, you can come out already". Amazing.... oh ya, you refused to come out when I didn't get to eat the Potong Red Bean ice cream, only wanted to come out after being happily fed with that huh?
Short summary of my birth story. It all started on 16th Feb from evening time. I remember daddy and mummy were still at the Expo looking at Home Fair. (Yes, 40w 1 day and your mama still running around). I thought I felt contractions but again, didn't know if they were real or fake. Even though they seem a little bit more painful than the usual ones, but still bearable. Still went to eat ice-cream and pizza. I had a very good appetite that night! Guessed u wanted to eat all these junks before you come out..
17th Feb, 12am - Bathed and saw blood when I wiped my bottom. Show! Called gynae and he said relax and wait at home.
1am - Contractions came! Painful kinds, really different from the usual Braxton Hicks. And just like what Doctor said, you will know when it's the real thing.
Started to time my contractions and the frequency got closer and not to mention, they got more and more painful too. *Download contractions timer app from app store*
3.10am - Admitted to Mount Alvernia. Dilation was only 2.5-3cm but I was already feeling VERY painful. Ok, i admit my threshold for pain is really low. Nurse asked if I want epidural and I said yes. Thought better not to scare myself for the 1st delivery as I would want to have another one after you. After epidural was administered, no pain can be felt, but the legs all went numb. Relax and just wait!
6am - 6cm dilated. Considered fast i guess.
7am - 8cm dilated. Fast... soon soon!!
8am - Gynae came!! OMG!! He checked for my dilation and went "you ready?" I freaked out, and said "NOOO!" Lol.. I was seriously terrified.. Oh, did i mention I was typically shivering throughout? Partly because of the side effect from epidural, and I think my fear contributed to the shivering too.
After gynae prepared everything and having 2 nurses by my side asking me to push every time they see the contractions come, mummy pushed you out really soon!!! (Time not to be mentioned as it's sensitive). You looked really alert when you came out. Puzzled by where you are, you just looked around with your eyes wide open... *This is a photo of you when you just arrived...
WELCOME TO THE WORLD, MY BABY!!! Daddy and Mummy will love and care for you with all our heart and provide the best for you wherever we can....
*Am using laptop and not able to upload photos.. Will be uploading them when I got the chance to upload the photos!
Kiss kiss love love,

Week 38 and still counting! CTG done on this day.
Today (01/02/2013) marks the 38th week into my pregnancy! Still counting down.. Baby is still comfortable in mummy's tummy... Did a CTG scan to check for any contractions today, and according to the nurse, if there are any, gynae will then check for cervix dilation, and decide if need to admit to give birth or still can wait.
And my results? No contractions at all. So just did a quick scan and home we go.
Baby at 38 weeks.. Weighing 2.76kg (an increase of 110g from last week), and mummy weighs 55.5kg now (increase of 500g from last week). I'm getting FAT!!!!

Can see your face? Right eye is blocked by a black patch (should be water). On the top of this picture is your hand. Nose still looks big to me... :p
Next scan will be on 08/02/2013.. There's still time to 40th week. And I still can enjoy the cny goodies!! So baby, stay good inside and see ya during the next scan!!

Week 37!! Full Term!!
Well done Baby Keanan!! We have hit the full term!! Time flies isn't it? Very soon, daddy and mummy can see you and you can see us too!! Please stay awhile longer in mummy's tummy and please absorb all the nutrients that mummy has been taking in from the food ok? Today's checkup revealed that you were a little small (Dr. Cheng said ok, but I think small), at 2.65kg - week 37. According to the chart from babycentre (Average-fetal-length-weight-chart), you should be about 2.85kg at this week. Mummy got so upset I cried a couple of times... I have been eating quite well leh.. but why is baby not growing as much?
Mummy gained 2kg in 2 weeks! Total weight gain is 15kg now. Gynae says mummy has quite alot of water retention, and he also said it will be easy for me to lose weight after I give birth. Actually I am really not concerned about my weight at the moment. What is important is for Baby Keanan to be healthy and I will be very happy le..
Anyway, today you were so sweet and showed us your cute little face. I felt so touched when I see your face, so round and you looked chubby! I still think you look like me! Heh Heh...

Very round hor? Hahaha...
Anyway, I forgot to post scan at 35 weeks. I guessed cos you didn't show us your face and we could only see your ears then, so not very interested to post up also. Here goes...
Your little ears that look more like daddy's...
Be good Keanan, eat more ah!! Absorb all the nutrients!! Don't make mummy upset....
Love you,

Maternity Shoot Photos - Lumiere Photography
Yeah... or rather NO Yeah? I received the maternity shoot photos we took at Lumiere photography! Not really happy about the turnout actually.. Because of the damn water retention on that day for God knows whatever reasons, and as expected, my damn face look like a bloody HUM CHIN PENG!!! FLAT AND SIBEI ROUND!!!! GRRRRRR!!!! And the angles of the photos really wasn't captured nicely. Some can't really see tummy and the editing I think sucks. Showed examples before the shoot but I think the photos really didn't turn out like what I wanted them to be. Ok, some EXAMPLES of the I think are professional shots looks like this at least..
PLEASE NOTE THIS ARE EXAMPLES OF THE PHOTOS I EXPECTED.
I can just go on and on.... And here comes the worse. You probably might just LAUGH OUT LOUD. And me? "Ki Ga Bu Si!!" (hokkien - angry till going to die).
If you had forgotten the examples earlier on, this was what I wanted. *NOTE: THIS IS THE PRO EXAMPLE
I thought the photos would be good if the angle shoot down abit. At least can see abit of the legs? Now the tummy abit kanna chopped off.. Ok, at least I got a few that I can develop..

P.S Oh ya, see you tomorrow baby for the scan!!!
PLEASE NOTE THIS ARE EXAMPLES OF THE PHOTOS I EXPECTED.
Nice examples??
OK, THESE ARE WHAT MY PHOTOS TURN OUT... (-_-)''' Ok, to be nice and fair, I will choose the edited ones for comparison.
Ok, this one still not thattt bad...
The above can't see daddy's face! Well, maybe the photographer wanted a close-up. But really got difference with really pro ones la!!! :(
Sigh.. I really don't know how to comment on this one.. My face looks super swollen, (and almost ALL the photos looked like this), and comparing with the above example, i think the difference is quite obvious? Just not really up to standard i think...
Ok, for my blog fans, another failed shot I think. (I said for my blog fans cos I REALLY didn't want to show how FAT my face looked in the photos) And failed shot because angle really wasn't right. Daddy was again chopped half, and his big hand was covering 3/4 of my tummy.
Another tummy chopped plus HUM CHIN PENG face. When you are seeing these pictures, you can occassionally scroll up to the examples and compare? Hopefully it's not me who's expecting too much...
And this, the shirt cover the tummy SEE WHAT??

AND THIS WAS WHAT MINE TURNED OUT. (-_-)!!!!! SWEAT SWEAT SWEAT....
Have you LAUGH OUT LOUD? I'm sure you did.. Cos I see the last photo I also !!!!! GRRR...
Ok, finish ranting.. To be nice, I finally manage to shortlist 4 nice ones. Will only show a couple. There's still fault in them though, just that they are nicer than the above...

Week 35+ and some updates...
Keanan, we are at the 35th week approaching 36th this coming Friday.. Went to see Dr.Henry Cheng on last Thurs and you weigh only 2.5kg. Mummy thinks you are abit on the small side but gynae keep saying ok. And your daddy also.. They are afraid that I won't be able to give birth to you naturally..
Anyway, I've arranged a meetup with the mummies for a durian feast tomorrow!! I just wanna beef u up a little more.. just a little..
Throughout this pregnancy, I can say that it has been pretty easy and smooth for me, for us.. Then came a not so good news that Mummy's diagnosed positive for Strep B. For more information on this, click here. I'm now put on a 5 days antibiotics and hopefully the bacteria will be cleared. Will be checked again on our next visit to the gynae which is on next Friday... Will also be injected with antibiotics during labour too.. That is to prevent baby keanan from being infected which can be pretty serious..
The medicine that I'm put on.
Strep B is actually very common and so long as I'm being treated, it shouldn't be too big a problem.. Just have to think on the positive side and baby be good too!!
We will all be well!!!
Love u,
Mummy Jo.

Your new cupboard!! Nicely packed now!
Keanan, remember I said I will be back to post pictures of daddy installing the cupboard for you? Here you go!!
From carrying from the store to the car...
From carrying from the store to the car...
Your daddy very strong right?? It weighs a whopping 47kg!! He didn't want Ikea to deliver cos it cost $80 to deliver that box of wardrobe.
And here's daddy installing the cupboard!! I couldn't take alot of pictures cos it wasn't really good for a pregnant woman to be around when there's screwing or drilling kinda work to be done. (pantang reasons). So here's one.
帅 hor? Hehe... And there u can see your jie jie's butt!! Always disturb people when people's busy...
And the end product??
LOL.. Why wearing different attire? Obviously the photo was taken on another day cos daddy didn't have enough time to finish installing in one day. And this was taken after mummy finish packing it too...
With Tina's help of cos...
It wasn't easy trying to categorize your clothes and packing them nicely ok....
With alot of careful planning....
And Ta Dah!!! It's done!!! Thanks to Tina loads!!
Show u what each different tier comprises of...
Tier 1
Tier 2
Tier 3
Tier 4
And finally, this is how your shower room looks like!!
With your shower stand at the side..
Yes i know... There's alot of diapers!! In fact, i find it abit too much now that it's taking up so much space. What to do? They were so cheap when I got them... Just keep telling myself now baby will be using them up really fast then I can use the storage boxes underneath after that..
Anyway, I'm really happy that it's finally done up and all the things are finally stashed at the correct places!! I think this is what they called as nesting instinct settling in.. Must keep everything properly and nicely organised, for baby's arrival!!
Next up will be baby's cot.. We are going to pick it up later from Dua gu's home ok? Then will be pictures of daddy installing it again..
Hope you like your wardrobe baby,
Mummy Jo & Papa Derick

Hospital Bag
Many would want to know what to pack for hospital bag. I've included a few attachments here for all's reference.
Mummy has packed almost 90% of the bag, what's left unpacked are daddy's clothings. Shall get them done really soon too. And kiasu mummy is using a luggage for the hospital bag. Seriously, a normal bag is not enough for me. I just use the luggage and dump everything inside and it makes it easy for carry too. Just drag and go!

Mount Alvernia Maternity Package 2013
Bad news... Mount Alvernia revised their package for 2013. There's a price increase of about $300 - $500 depending on the type of delivery you going for. If mummy's going for natural and without any epidural, the increase is about $300+, with epidural and the increase is about $400+.
This is the new package that they are offering.

And for comparisons, this is the old package they offered.
