Breastpumps

Have been reading up and discussing the different types of breastpumps with all the online mummies. Medela seems to be a very popular brand among mothers. Another brand which I heard that's good is Ameda. Since I have already decided to get the Medela, I shall just write about this brand cos I've not research on the others too. :) (Lazy to research more and since everyone's saying Medela's good, it can't be too wrong isn't it? ) By the way, I think Medela is one of the more expensive brands among other breastpumps.

There are a few types of Medela breastpumps. Single or dual pumps and I'm going for the dual pumps cos lazy to do it one side followed by other side. Just get it over and done with please!!

Medela Freestyle

Generally, this pump lets you go hands-free. So if you are a cannot-sit-down kind of mum, it would be good if you go for this. Pump while you do other things at the same time. According to owner from My Beauty Loft, she said Freestyle has a gentler suction, is more compact and lighter than the other one which I'm going to explain in a while. Freestyle also comes with a higher price tag. Which I'll come into it later.

Pump In Style Advanced (Generally known as PISA)

There are a few types of PISA: PISA Backpack, PISA On-the-go Tote & PISA Metro. If you ask me what's the difference betweent these 3, I'd say different types of bag lor... LOL. You know what's a backpack right? And you know what's a tote too? Metro is something like a tote bag but I think it's bigger. This is for simple understanding. But I think there's more to it definitely. Ok, metro is abit different in that
The Metro Bag features a removable pump in a separate bag for pumping and trasnsport flexibility. I would either be getting the Metro or tote. Cos backpack very ugly!! :p

If you click on the pictures and read, the difference is PISA Metro features removable pump in a separate bag. All others remain the same.

Where to get them
  1. Amazon - Buy direct from amazon and ship over using CGW / uclick2buy. You may refer to my previous blogpost on the shipping rates. It was advised by my forum friends to purchase during November. During Black Fri or something like that, that US will have sale going on. So I must remember to set my alarm to purchase it in November!
  2. In case I fail to get it in November from Amazon, I can get also get from My Beauty Loft from the forum mummysg.
Pricing Comparison (between My Beauty Loft & megababystore)

MY BEAUTY LOFT                    MEGABABYSTORE                   MEGABABYSTORE (w guarantee)

PISA Backpack:               $395                                                $425                                                    $525
PISA On-the-go                $395                                                $425                                                    $525
PISA Metro                      $425                                                $480                                                    $580
PISA Freestyle                 $460                                                $550                                                    $650

I should be getting the Medela Metro and either getting from My Beauty Loft or Amazon since Megababystore seems the more expensive option here. :)

Am also providing this link for all other mummies who are interested to test out the breastpumps or know more about breastfeeding or about other breastpumps. - Breastfeeding Mothers Support Group

In addition to breastfeeding, Paulene Yi Yi recommended mummy this nipple cream, said to be one of the best in the market to prevent cracks and is baby-safe too. I wonder if the pricing is also one of the best? LOL. Anyway, can be found at Tangs or Paragon. Will check it out when I pass by these places.

Signing off
