33 Weeks and growing strong!!

Baby Keanan!!! Finally after a good long wait of 4 weeks, daddy and mummy got to see you again this morning!!

You currently weigh 2.16kg at 33 weeks, and mummy put on another 2kg from the last checkup, from 50 to 52kg now. Seems like we are both putting on steadily!! Good job baby!! Let's jiayou together ya?? Gynae says it's a normal weight, no longer said baby is big. I'm confused though... I want baby to be chubby but at the same time, I'm scared of the difficulty to give birth if you are too big. Anyway, I'm gonna get durians to eat later with Hazel Ma!!! Buff u up just a little bit more.. Hehe...

Here's a picture of your handsome face today. Can't figure out who u look like but your nose bridge seems high still. Papa says eyes big like him. I couldn't make that out though.

Next visit will be at 35 weeks, another 2 weeks more. And subsequently will be every weekly!! How happy, can see you more often and don't have to wait for so long for each visit anymore! Which also means, we are going to see each other soon!!!

Asked Dr.Henry quite a number of questions today too.
1) Hips very small, can go natural?
He said can, and went on to say the hip bone will still open up more. And he said he ever had one mama who's about the same size as me and her baby was 4kg and she did it naturally. POWER!!
2) How to differentiate Braxton Hicks (BH) and real contractions? How to time contractions?
He smiled and said, "don't worry, you'll sure know if it's the real contractions. Cos they are painful de. And BH are not. Contractions will gradually increase over time. Maybe start with 1 hour once, then 40mins, then 30mins, then 20mins. When 10mins once, can go to hospital already, though it's still early." And he smiled again...
3) Baby very active will result in premature? Active until tummy feels really tight and uncomfortable.
He assured me again not to worry. Worry only when baby is not active. And said baby active is good ah!! :)
4) Daddy is going for reservist from 2nd Jan to 18th Jan. Need to defer? Will I give birth anytime during that time?
He asked me not to worry. Nowadays reservist very relaxed. He will just give me a letter stating my EDD for daddy to show to officer. And in any case, he will be able to book out.
Well, they better allow papa to remain contactable at ALL TIMES. If not I sure panic until Lao Sai or sure panic until contractions will be even more painful and I'm gonna curse and swear at your daddy cos he also said no need to defer!

Mummy hasn't been taking tummy's picture for quite a long time.. The last one was also taken during maternity shoot during 32nd week. So today I asked daddy to take again! And here comes the comparison pictures too.

Maternity Shoot

Keanan!! Today daddy and mummy went for the maternity shoot by Lumiere Photography!! We had fun and mummy brought quite alot of props along too! Some sneaks to show you taken by Papa using his iPhone before we get the photos 4 weeks later.

How does mummy look? Pretty ma? Am currently in 31 weeks 5 days when I took this... 

Am a little upset though. Cos mummy was experiencing water retention. (of all days...) The photos here still seems ok. Wait till you see those on the photographer's camera. Mummy's face looks super swollen!! :( My face really shouldn't be so swollen usually!!

Here's a picture of mummy and daddy having fun at Daddy's company's Xmas party last night at MBS. 

You see!! These photos were just last night and my face is so sharp and not round!! Sian... Forget it, no point brooding over it.. Now i just hope the photos will look great after editing.. 

Your stroller has been sent over yesterday too. Now we are fully equipped for your arrival in Feb'13!! Cant' wait to see you baby!! Exactly who do you look like?? 

Your next scan will be on next Fri, 28th Dec. Still so long.... Mama's friends are all having bi-weekly appointments but I still have to wait 4 weeks to see u.. :(

31 weeks!! Another 9 more to go!!

My little baby Keanan!! We are into the 31st week and another 9 more weeks to go!! OMG!! So fast!! Are you growing well inside mummy's tummy? Have you been eating well? Have you been sleeping good? Mummy's weight has remain stagnant for quite some time, from the last visit which I only gained 0.5kg till now, there has been no weight gain at all. Nevertheless, I still hope you are growing well and be a chubby baby but not too big till Mummy can't go natural ya?

Keanan, are you going to be a musician, a kungfu master, gymnast, or what next time? You are SOOOO active recently and sometimes your kicks are making me painful and uncomfortable. Mummy notice you always dance to music and especially those with obvious beats, high pitches... My friends say how you behave in the tummy means how you will be when you are out. "Jit bai cham liao"... (this time I'm dead meat). I asked daddy the other day, "you don't have to sleep one meh??" You can go kicking and turning and tossing for the whole night, sometimes into the morning. Note, you are especially active in the night!! Also "cham" liao... They say it's because you are following my schedule. You kick when you are hungry, kick when I am eating, kick when you hear music, kick when we watch movies, kick ALL THE TIME!! Ok, mummy loves your kicks and I know I'm gonna miss this feeling when you're out, but please baby, not so hard and machiam playing kungfu inside ya? (-_-''')

Your legs are getting longer I'm sure.. Cos I'm starting to feel them poking at my ribs!!! That's really painful!! And you are getting bigger, cos I can't breathe well after every meal!! Feeling breathless and I feel like I'm older than your ah ma!! Pants when I climb stairs and I have to walk so slowly, get in and out of the car real slowly, everything is slowed down. Lol... Sometimes, your dad will walk so fast and forgets that I'm now not the past Joanna whom wants everything fast fast. I want fast fast but very difficult!!!

We are going for the maternity shoot on this coming Tuesday! I hope the photos will turn out great! And mummy's bought a photobook just to store these shots. Next time will buy another photobook specially for your newborn shoots too!

Mummy's starting to pack the hospital bag.. really slowly, putting whatever I remember into the bag as and when I remember. Which means it is really almost time to deliver!!! OMG!! Excited and scared at the same time too baby... Can mummy really do it naturally and hopefully without any epidural?? I pray I can!!

Xmas's coming soon and I'm going to wrap the pressies!! Chat again baby!!

30 Weeks & Counting Down!!

Keanan 宝贝!! Sorry for not updating this past week... Nothing much to update and mummy's been busy and tired...

Time flies!! It's time to start counting down for the weeks. We are at our 30th week and there's 10 more to go!! Baby be good and stay till full term ya? Mummy's tummy getting bigger and bigger and I think you are really experiencing a growth spurge now.. Sometimes, my tummy feels so tight I can hardly breathe well, especially after a full meal. Mummy's getting lazy to take pictures of tum tum too... By the way, the maternity shot has been scheduled on the 19th Dec! I'm looking forward to it but also trying to figure out what to wear on the day too. I'm not able to fit into most of my pants already!!!! Oh Dear....

By the way, we have finally got you your stroller!! And in the end, we decided on Peg Perago SI Completo 2012 still. Your papa is sweet enough to think what if I go out with baby alone and is worried Pliko might be too heavy for me to handle. And since SI looks good enough too, we decided with it. And we got it at a very good price! Mummy has always been on the lookout for the price and the cheapest has always been  Baby's Hyperstore pricing at $599. The other day, I saw it at $594 at Takashimaya, and card member has additional 10% off!! So mummy got a friend to go with me using her card and we got it at $534 PLUS a free buggy organiser worth $50!! So happy with this purchase!!

Grandma has also been trying to shift the tables outside my room to make space for my computer table that's supposed to give way for your baby cot. However, no matter how she tries to shift, there's not enough space for the computer table!! Still trying to figure a way for your baby cot. No matter what, computer table has to go out. Perhaps will be joining your dad's work station next door then..

And mummy has started drinking coconut water too.. Now I'm drinking 1 per week, will slowly move to probably 2 a week. It's said to make baby cleaner when you are born and without too much discharge coming out too.. Can only start drinking from 3rd trimester onwards cos it's said to be very cooling and not a wise choice to drink when in the early stages of pregnancy.

Really nothing much to update baby already. Hope you have been eating well (mummy's been eating really well and eating all the HO LIAO for baby keanan) and growing well too... Most importantly, be healthy and as happy as mama always!! I love all your kicks even though they can make me feel pretty uncomfortable at times so just continue kicking and interacting with mama and papa!!!

New clothes for Baby

Keanan, you really have a very nice daddy and mummy and even ah ma... Mummy already bought so much clothes for you until your ah ma nagged at me... But in the end?? She saw that you might not have enough newborn clothes and she went to get you more!!! And I told her can get $2 each, but she just don't listen, went to buy 1 for $8.50 at Isetan. (-_-)''' .. Come back scared I scold still say, more expensive de quality better.. and ask me to see. (-_-)''' Ok, she win. Lol..

Glucose Test & Scan on 28th Nov 2012

Keanan!! Mummy and daddy's baobei Keanan!!!

Good news!!! Mummy passed the glucose test!!! Which means, you can still get to eat all the good food!!! Wahaha!! U know what I did after I got the results? I went to buy durians and eat!!! Yumz!! Previously have been controlling not to eat too much cos scared of gestational diabetes but now I can eat without worries! Also cannot eat too much still cos baby you are on the big side and durians pump up baby fast.. It'd be difficult for me to go natural if you are too big...

Baby you weigh 1.3kg as of 28weeks 5days. Normal should be around 1.1kg. You are 0.2kg more! And you look really chubby too!!! You have really chubby cheeks and we think you look so cute!!

This is how you look like facing us. Can you see your portruding cheeks and your as usual big nose?? Pinch pinch!!!

And this is from the side view. Your nose bridge very high hor? Mummy think you will be a very handsome boy!! But your lips also very 跷！！ Next time can talk a lot...













Mummy weighs 10kg, only an increase of 0.5kg from the last scan. Which means baby is absorbing most of the food mummy's taking in. "Jin Tam Jia" (meaning very greedy)!! Lol...

Time flies... We are officially into the 3rd trimester already.. Getting more and more excited for your arrival!! And we have started to wash your old and new baby clothes, packing them into plastic bags first before unpacking them again in End Jan'13 for your arrival.. Are you excited to see dad and mum too??

Next scan will be in 4 weeks time. Still a long way to go... I thought it should be about 3 weeks once we hit our 3rd trimester. Anyway, it must be good so gynae don't have to see us so often ya?

We are going to see you again tomorrow baby!!

Baby Keanan!! Has it been almost a week mummy hasn't been chatting with you? Not much updates recently... Only mummy's tummy's getting bigger and it's getting heavier. And it has started to put pressure on my legs and I'm not able to walk for too long.. But I walked too long on last Saturday because of the IT Expo Fair that now I'm feeling slightly strained in the legs... Hopefully the pain will go off in awhile..

We are going to see you again tomorrow baby!! And mummy's going to take the glucose test. Remember you were a little big at week 25? So we got to check if mummy has Gestational diabeties that causes you to be big or you are just big... It's going to be an early day too, gotta be at gynae at 9.30am, and drink a very sweet and concentrated liquid, wait for 2 hours and go back to gynae to check again. Keanan bo pi mama everything is fine, no GD ya?? If not the road's gonna be tough cos I will have to control my diet greatly.. And you know mummy loves to eat and eat and eat!! Think the results will be out in a week or so, so I will keep you updated!!

Keanan remember to wave to mama and papa again tomorrow!!! And smile!!!

Newborn Photography for you!!

Keanan, mummy was contemplating whether to take up newborn photography for you or not until I saw this really good package at the Expo Fair. Actually I got to know about it after the fair and through the online mummy group, so I quickly called up the company and asked if they can extend the package.

I bought the package from StudioPlay. For sample of their pictures, here is the website .

So far this is the cheapest I have seen already. Package cost only $168.

Was actually comparing between a few companies, namely, StudioPlay, The Studio Loft, P.S I love you, dphotofolio. And in the end, mummy went ahead with StudioPlay cos their package was too irresistable. P.S I love you had REALLY nice pictures, but they were too expensive...

Really cute right!!!! I wonder how Keanan's photos will turn out!! One thing I'm worried though is can I bring you out during my confinement period? Don't know if your ah ma will scream at me or not..

Mount Alvernia Hospital Tour on 15th Nov 2012

The nurses at Dr. Cheng has started to ask mummy which hospital am I going to give birth and which ward I'm gonna stay.. From what I know, Dr. Cheng gives birth at Mount Elizabeth and Mount Alvernia. I'm going for the latter because it's nearer to home. So mummy booked a hospital tour at Mount A to check out how the wards look like.

Once you reach, proceed to Block A Level 3. Office hours can do admission there, after office hours, mummy come here, daddy go to Biz centre for registration.

Prices are package prices. Mummy was so stupid I initially thought was per night charges. If that's the case, i think I would like to have the SUPER DELUXE!! I know daddy will agree, since he initially said ok for the suite. I'm helping him save a few hundred by downgrading to super deluxe already. 

Rooms are first-come-first-serve basis though. Baby you must "bo pi" the ward is available when you come out!!!!!! At least let mummy have a good 2 night rest ya??
